The Project: Avangrid hired McPhee Electric, Ltd. to install a flood wall and mitigation system by diverting the Housatonic River away from an existing Avangrid Substation. Preconstruction surveys and vibration and settlement monitoring was paramount. McPhee needed to erect a flood wall in the middle of the Housatonic River to divert the water away from the substation and nearby railroad. Contract totaled $25MM.
